About BEST WESTERN PLUS Stoke on Trent Moat House

BEST WESTERN PLUS Stoke-on-Trent Moat House Hotel is in Hanley in the city of Stoke-on-Trent. Also known as The Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent is European City of Sport in 2016 and World Capital of Ceramics. We have historic links to the city's pottery heritage - Etruria Hall, our meetings and events centre, was built in 1769 and was formerly the home of Josiah Wedgwood, the "Father of English Potters."

The hotel is close to the M6 motorway being just 20 minutes from either junction 15 or 16. When you arrive we have free parking for up to 350 cars and if travelling by train Stoke Station is approximately two-miles away. We are an hour's drive from the cities of Birmingham, Derby, Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool so we make a great hotel when travelling on business in the Midlands and Northwest.

Stoke-on-Trent Moat House is a modern hotel set in the grounds of historic Etruria Hall. All 147 bedrooms have comfort cooling and free, unlimited Wi-Fi. Our leisure facilities are free to use for residents and include an indoor heated pool, spa and air conditioned gym. The restaurant and bar offer a variety of dishes whilst the lounge area has a contemporary feel ideal for relaxing over a coffee and meeting up with friends. The smart surroundings and free Wi-Fi also make it convenient for business meetings.

The hotel is close to Stoke-on-Trent's business district and business parks, whilst Hanley's shops, theatres, museums and cinemas are on our doorstep. The Potteries Shopping Centre - the largest shopping centre in Staffordshire and South Cheshire - is just minutes from the hotel and the historic market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short drive.

There are so many things to do in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. The Dry Ski Slope and Waterworld - Europe's largest indoor water park - are a short walk from the hotel. Other nearby attractions include the brand new World of Wedgwood, The Potteries Museum, Monkey Forest, Gladstone Pottery Museum, Middleport Pottery and Emma Bridgwater. Alton Towers Resort is a 30-minute drive from the hotel as is The Peak District.

Visit England have designated 2016 as The Year Of The English Garden, a year which also marks the 300th year of the birth of Capability Brown - England's finest landscaper whose "workplace" was in Staffordshire. The hotel is close to a number of award-winning gardens including Trentham Gardens, Dorothy Clive Garden and Biddulph Grange.

If you are planning a conference or meeting in Stoke-on-Trent we have twelve conference and event rooms in the hotel. Etruria Hall is our dedicated eight-room meeting centre, whilst the hotel has a further four flexible meeting rooms including the impressive ballroom. The ballroom hosts major events and conferences and can accommodate up to 650.

For all these reasons we’re a popular hotel for business travel, and for short-break holidays, in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
